Volunteer

Hi, I am really really looking into becoming a nurse but dont have any healthcare experience and I was wondering if anyone knows of any places in houston texas that offer volunteer programs

Most hospitals have volunteer programs. Do a search for the hospitals nearby and choose which one you like best. Happy googling!

I may not know what hospitals there are in TX, but I can give you a hint of whats up. Search google maps for hospitals then if there is one near you, go to their website.

I volunteer in a hospital here in CA and I found it just by google. I didnt even get to know where the hospital is until the day of my interview.

Most hospitals accept email applications and you go through a somewhat normal hiring process.

The difference? They dont charge you for background checks, xray tests and vaccines. The only thing you pay is the identification badge and uniform (roughly around 15 bucks). Identification badges usually have a 10 dollar deposit which you can get back if you discontinue volunteering. The id badge isnt just the normal ones, they are used to get scanned at gates so only authorized personnels, like volunteers, can get in.
