Voice Recorders?

What suggestions would you give incoming students on choosing a voice recorder for taping lectures? What do have and how is it working? What would you buy if you have to repurchase? Looking for models that would allow you to download to computer for storage.

WntrMute2, you really recorded an entire semester of lectures with out filling up the memory stick? That just seems amazing. Can you please confirm the amount of memory that you used? I'm shopping around for a pda myself and am very interested in recording capabilities. The most I've seen advertised was 10 hours on one memory stick. Thanks in advance...

Actually It was 1 complete class (advanced pharm) and parts of another. 256 K memory stick on extended play. There is a lot of superficial stuff that doesn't need to recorded in most classes BTW.
