I currently work in US but live in Canada. Graduated college in Canada and got my Canadian and Michigan licenses as well. My Canadian license expired about a year ago since I have not worked here (Canada) since getting the license and saw no purpose of keeping it. Now I'm starting to (or possibly getting ready) regret the decision.
I'm wondering if I have to go through the whole process of obtaining a VisaScreen (from start to finish), plus the Canadian license. Also wondering if I will denied the VisaScreen if I do not have a Canadian license.
Please respond asap. Thank you.

Do you mean a VisaScreen to work in Canada? VisaScreen looks at whether your education is equivalent to that which is required where you are getting your work visa (usually a money grab). If you were educated in Canada and want to work in Canada, you don't need a VisaScreen. You will however have to get your license reinstated in Ontario. CNO will be able to tell you how to do that. Hopefully you do not need to do the licensing exam but I'm not sure since your license has lapsed.
To work as a nurse in the US, you do not need a nursing license from a Canadian province/territory. Just a successful VisaScreen. Hopefully I understood what you are asking correctly.
No worries. You answered my question and more! I'm actually a Canadian working in the US and plan on staying that way. Thank you for answering!
Thank you!
