Program alum here, chiming in. The year that I got admitted the Richmond notices went out... maybe 1-1/2 weeks later, tops? Probably less... a week? Either way, I think it's just a function of the Richmond cohort having way more applicants to sift through.

I remember the sense of urgency. Bear in mind that the department only has 4 or 5 full-time faculty and a couple of staff (which is... amazingly... still way more full-time faculty & staff than some programs have at their disposal) and they all have other duties too and about 180 current students to cater to. Their world doesn't stop turning for an admissions cycle, and they put a lot of care and attention into it to make sure the process is fair & equitable and they get the best candidates.

Hope that helps. I remember how tough the waiting was. Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for the insight, Will.

They are doing things a little differently this year. They said that second interview invites would go out "late May." And the non-Richmond people heard two days ago, on Tuesday. Being that it is now May 29, people are getting antsy. 🙂

Ahh... I see. Interesting that you said the non-Richmond people heard on Tuesday. The city issued a boil-water advisory on Tuesday afternoon that affected most of downtown. So, a lot of businesses have been closed or working from home. That could be part of the delay.

From what I gathered when I scheduled, there were only two days you could pick (June 4th or 5th). So I think they're only giving us a week to do the interview.

Oh man, that is not a lot of time especially for those who still work and may need to switch their schedule. I wonder if they have different dates for the Richmond folks since it doesn't seem like anyone who applied there has heard back.
