How important is having your CCRN to get accepted? My overall GPA is like a 3.3 (I didn't try to hard in my earlier years) but my nursing and science are both about a 3.75. Do I have a snow balls chance of getting accepted?

I'm a current student, too. I think it is very important. a lot of the things we talk about in lecture assume that you already have CCRN-level understanding of the topic. I personally don't think anyone without CCRN and at least one two years of ICU experience is competitive for CRNA school in general.

Since this post I have obtained my CCRN. I'm debating on taking the TCRN and CEN as well since I have experience working in Level 1 Trauma Centers. I have a total of 4 years experience.

The achilles' heel of my application is my cumulative GPA. I have a 3.1 cumulative GPA. I have taken A LOT of college courses over the years. I have 2 Bachelor's degrees and an Associate degree. I didn't take my college courses seriously the beginning of my college career. However, I grew up and graduated with my BSN with a 3.75 GPA. My science GPA is also a 3.75. I also have a lot of volunteer experience working in my community.

My question to you is am I a competitive applicant  with a cumulative GPA of 3.1? Do I even stand a chance at getting a interview?

According to last year's thread they started emailing the third week of May

I've talked to at least a few classmates whose GPAs were less than 3.5. They took graduate-level nursing courses (and got As) to boost their application, and/or addressed it in their cover letter. Take that opportunity to paint the picture of the student you were, versus the student you grew into.

The worst that can happen is you don't get in, and then you're just where you are now. Give it a shot.

My educated guess is that it's essential for a competitive application. I'm a current student, and looking at the company I'm in... it's doubtful anyone here isn't a CCRN.

Has anyone gotten an invite to interview? Since it's the third week of May and that's when I heard they were sent last year.

Hang in there guys! I know it's rough to wait, I'm a third year student and the Spring term just wrapped on Friday AND they're organizing the NA2 cadaveric regional anesthesia camp to start next week, so I'm sure preparations are keeping everyone busy this time of year.  Just keep working and saving those $$$, enjoy the Summer!
