Hi Everyone. I wanted to create a thread for the vcu CRNA 2023. Has anyone submitted their application yet ?

I just told my manager that I am applying to grad school and she was extremely supportive. Many nurses on our unit are in grad school for masters or NP. But nobody knows that it’s CRNA which is different because you can’t work while in school. I don’t want them to think I am leaving in 2023 because my chances of getting in the first time are 50/50. Plus if I don’t get in, I don’t want to be known as a failure to CRNA program. So here I am, all anxious on my own LOL.

Haha. OK. Vcu allows you to work the first year because it’s all didactic. And CRNA is competitive, don’t torture yourself. Virginia has other schools as well old dominion. Maybe do two schools.

From what I hear is that you don’t really want to work or at least scale back, starting Summer in your first year at VCU. ODU is not an option because I don’t want to commute too far to clinical sites due to personal reasons. So yeah… no wonder I am so anxious about VCU LOL. I know it’s so stupid to apply to just one school
Hi, great to see this thread. I'm a first time applicant, new to the process. Not sure how everyone fared obtaining shadowing experiences during COVID. I was able to talk with the admissions office, and they said they did not require any sort of shadowing experience due to the pandemic and would not expect anyone to do so.
Glad they did away with their GRE requirements! Seems a bit outdated to have that. Good luck to everyone- NursingCAS is really frustrating, so get your materials in early!
