Anyone applying? Has anyone been through their program or heard about it?

I take the TEAS tomorrow and I'm just wondering how competitive it is.

Thanks in advance :)

Did you ever get into the program? How is it?

I graduated from this school many, many years ago. I went during my senior year in high school. It was an awesome school then and they did not play with their BON pass rate. If they felt you were going to fail or screw it up, you were gone. They had their own way of "weeding" out poor perfomers. I was fortunate to graduate with a 90 average, but it was NOT easy. They are NLNAC accredited which is HUGE plus! However, they are the only school left in this area that still requires students to wear the lovely white hats. Everyone knew VBSPN students in the hospitals becuase of those great hats. If you can get past those hats, I would recommend the school. Good luck!

lilprittynurse- How do you like being an LPN, have you found this area to be extremely hard to find jobs? I hope to start the LPN program in September, but wish to use LPN as a bridge to BSN.

Heather,

I've been an LPN for 18 years. I must say I have done VERY well as an LPN. I have held many positions that were previously RN jobs, but becuase of my experience I was able to transition into these roles. Such as clinical case mngt, medical mngt, even inpatient discharge planning. However, I must say that even though I've held these (unlikely LPN) roles, my heart always yearned to have RN behind my name. I found that many of my fellow RN collegues never gave me the same respect like the other nurses. At one point I was a trainer, and yes I had to train RN's..it was not easy. This is why now I am extremely driven to finally finish school and become a RN. I am not getting any younger..lol

However, I am very grateful for the experience as an LPN as it will surely help during RN school.
