Villanova BSN Express 2016

Published

0Hi everyone! This site who so helpful to me when I started applying, so I thought I would post here to find anyone who is applying or has been accepted to the Villanova University BSNExpress Program beginning May 2016. Can't wait to meet you all!

Hey Guys!

I was accepted into the program in November! I look forward to meeting everyone! I plan to move closer to the campus but I don't know where too even look in terms to areas and what not. Anyone have any tips?

Does anyone know what the class/clinical schedule is like for the program? When I attended Drexel's info session I believe they said the first quarter was class Mon-Fri 8-5, then class two days/week and clinical two days/week for each quarter after that (or something like that). Just curious if anyone is familiar with Villanova's schedule?

I spoke with a current BSN Express student about the schedule. Below is her response:

We don't have classes or clinicals on the weekends (yay!), although I'm not sure about the final summer semester. This past semester, I had Wednesdays and Fridays off, but that depends on your clinical schedule. Once you finish the first summer session, which is pretty much all day, every day, then you'll have classes on Tuesday and Thursdays plus either one 12 hour or two 6 hour clinical days on MWF. A 12 hour clinical day is generally 7am-7pm and a 6 hour day is generally either 7am-1pm or 2-8pm. Classes vary - the first summer they are often 8am-5pm and then in the fall and spring you have a choice of early classes or later classes. There are a few evening classes. I had a pharmacology class in the fall that ran from 5:30-8:30pm on Thursdays - I think that's about the latest anything would go. Students with the earlier schedule had that class in the morning.

Hi All,

Congrats on being accepted!!! I live in Havertown (about 7 minutes from Villanova) and am offering a room for rent - possibly even my whole place (can house 2-3 people) - if anyone's interested. Trust me, as a grad from this program you WANT to be close!ma Aalos only about 20-25 minutes via car or train from center city clinicals so place is ideal for students.

Seriously interested only, please email me at [email protected] - first come first serve.

Remember, I also have the inside scoop into a lot of the inner workings of the program, classes, clinicals, etc. and would even be willing to help study with you (on occasion) as a refresher for myself ;)

Hi everyone!!

I hope you all are doing well finishing up your prerequisites :) Question: would anyone be able to email me their old patho powerpoints? or give me a link to a website containing some? I am taking an online path (regret it) and there are absolutely no powerpoints provided & I'm having trouble organizing the most important things in my brain. If ANYONE would be able to help me, I'd really appreciate it. If anyone is taking the patho at Villanova & can send me their powerpoints, even better! Let me know, thanks!

Hi wanderfox4,

who is your instructor? If memory serves me, I took it with dr capriotti but that was in 2010 so not sure if they'd still be the same but the book/slides were EXCELLENT in helping to organize and explain things to you. I also recall being able to buy them at the bookstore...

if I can find them, I'd be more than willing to share them with you as long as u return them when ur finished.

let me look for them and see if I still have them before saying anything but I seem to recall that was one of those "keepers" I didn't get rid of as they were so good and could be used as a reference later on in life - and far better than google :)

ill look and let u know...

That would be wonderful Pam! I am not taking it at Villanova, I am taking it online at just a random college. Once you get a chance to see if you have them, let me know! Thank you so much.

Hi everyone! I'm applying for Spring 2017 admission to Villanova's program. Just a question...for the prereqs it says "Chemistry (must have an organic component)" but only 4 credits. So must you take Organic Chemistry? Or is General Chemistry okay? I took 8 credits of General Chemistry, which did touch on some topics of organic. Just hoping I don't have to take another class. Any help would be appreciated!
