Is there anyone who is applying for admission for May 2009? Is anyone currently attending the program?

I'm submitting my Villanova BSNExpress app tomorrow, I just found out about the program and went to the open house the other night...I'm REALLY impressed with the new nursing school, and I think Villanova is my new #1 choice! :heartbeat

Hi, I am new to the allnurses community. I llive in the Philadelphia area. Has anyone applied to Jefferson's Accelerated Pathway to MSN for September 09? I've applied and was wondering has anyone else. I also applied to Holy Family University and UofPenn? Anyone else?:nuke:

I applied to Jeff's FACT program, Villanova, and probably (although I haven't filled out the application yet). I missed UPenn's deadline, but I probably wouldn't have applied anyways (didn't want to take the GRE!) :D

I wish u look! I will be applying to Villanova's Alternate Curriculum Program and Temple. I am really nervous! Waiting for a response is going to be nerve racking!

Hey Guys,

Does anybody know if they have you come in the night before to get patient info for clinicals at Villanova? I think it's 's program that has you come in the night before, and I wasn't sure if Villanova was the same way!

I graduated from Villanova Nursing in May 2004. I didn't do the BSN Express program, I did the 4 year program. I never ever had a clinical experience in which we had to come in the night before to get patient info. We usually started clinicals at 6:30am or 6:45am and our clinical professors would give us our patient assignments first thing in the morning. Doesn't make sense (IMHO) to come in the night before, because so much can change during the night shift. Plus, with the price of gas now, it seems like a waste of resources. And that won't prepare you for the real world, because in real world nursing, you don't know anything about your patient assignment until you arrive for your 12 hour shift and receive your assignment from the charge nurse and get change of shift report from the nurses about to go home.

However, I've been away from Nova these past four years, so I'm sure there have been many changes since I graduated, especially since they have the new building. But, it would really really surprise me if Villanova clinical professors make you come in the night before.

Congratulations are your acceptance! I will be applying to the Alternate Curriculum BSN at Villanova; from what I understand, they will begin reviewing applications in March 09 for admission for September 2009. How long did it take for you to receive a response? Was there an interview process?

Thanks! The application window was May 1st - November 1st. I finished applying towards the end of August, and had my interview around that time. (They contacted me for an interview shortly after receiving my application). The interview went really well and I was told that I should hear by mid-December, but that sometimes they make early decisions. I assume my admittance was early decision because I heard back so early.

I am sure you will get an interview and best of luck! The faculty is so nice, helpful, and encouraging... I'm sure you'll love them/the school!

Congrats, Tashe! How was the interview process? My interview is scheduled for Friday (Halloween!)...were you just asked the normal questions (why nursing, etc)? :yeah:

The interview is really for you to find out more about the school and then they answer any questions you may have. Good luck!
