why vermont process center become the slowliest

Published

when i saw the update of vermont center process center , the processing date for schedule A 1-140 didn't move at all in the last two month, they only stayed processing cases filing on March 26. the processing date is far more behind other centers, like California and Taxis. does anyone kown what is the reason for the delay in vermont? i thought it would be faster than other centers, however, it don't seem like that.

Hello Sarahlou!

I have the same question with you.

I'm a nurse from the Phiilippines. For a long time now, I've been waiting for my

papers in I-140 to be approved. It has been stuck there for a time in BCIS

Vermont. It seems that Vermont Service Center has slowed down its processing and

it is getting me worried. I have noticed that their change in date is about 4

months or more. My priority date is on May 23,2005... and for now VSC is stuck

on March 26,2005. I wonder if they would ever hasten the processing of these

pending papers?

I am getting worried or something about the availability of visas in the near future? What is wrong with VSC, I heard

they used to processes faster than any other service center.

I wish someone could enlighten us on this matter.

Please tell us if there is anything that we, the people waiting for their i-140

approval, should know.

Right now we are losing hope that we would ever get approved in the near future.

If possible please email me if you have the answers.

Thank you in advance.

Priority date of May was still during the retrogression, nothing would have begun to be done on any of those until everyhting was over and opened again.

During the time of the retrogression, nothing was getting processed for nurses from the PIC countries. So you can expect a delay automatically until that opened up, on average was in July.

My only thing that I can add is be very happy that you are a nurse, for others the wait is usually about five years or so for a green card.

You have only begun the process, there is so much more for you to do, this is only the tip in the iceberg as they say.

VERMONT SERVICE CENTER and its applicants are facing a major problem. I saw more than 10 posts that their papers were approved in Vermont but were recalled during the time of their interview at the U.S. Embassies. The applicants have no idea why, even their agents or immigration lawyers.

One post i read speaks about the reason was RANDOM NAME CHECKING by the FBI/ or Department of Homeland Security. This is part of the anti-terrorism efforts. I really don't know why and what is the purpose. Security perhaps?

Another reason they stipulated is that the Vermont Service Center has violated certain laws with regards to the Department of Labor Job Posting Requirements. Other agencies and law firms use the Vermont Service Center because it is "fast track processing" there but really have NO intention in working in that area.

I read an unconfirmed report that Adjudicators are now being investigated internally by USCIS if they have violated procedures on approving cases. RFE's ability to pay and all that stuff...

Other problems I read is that applicants have multiple I-140 filings...that is a major problem now if you we're petitioned more than once YOU WILL SURELY ENCOUNTER A LOT OF DELAY!!! You papers will go back to USCIS.

The problem is that we always want "SHORTCUTS" but fulfilling the American Dream legally takes time. It needs a little patience...

There were actually about 45 nurses from Manila that had their papers pulled and cancelled because the agency did not have a hospital in place to place them. After all of their waiting, they were forced to go back to square one and begin the process all over. Remember that the process is job dependent, your employer is the one that does the processing on your behalf.

There have also been issues with some agencies falsifying documents to get a nurse into the US. Because of this, things are being checked with a fine tooth comb.

There are no shortcuts for working in the US. And because of others that have tried, it makes it difficult for others.

Where you decide that you want to work, not the processing center, should guide your decision.

Maryland falls under the jurisdiction of Vermont Service Center. Regarding your other concern, I am sorry I can not answer them. Vermont used to be the fastest and California the slowest. Now, its different, these two switched places.

Vermont Processing Center released processing date today, it don't have any change for scheduleA after one month. stay put for totally four month. they just put these cases away for several month. it seemed it will take a long long away to get 1-140 approved. i never thought it would stay put that long and no one know how long should we wait . so, don't get your hopes up when you think it turns out to be faster than before.:o

It is terrible news that Vermont processing has slowed down so much! Are nurses going to run out of visas soon? This is really bad. So many Philippine nurses will be delayed. What a depressing situation. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Or is it going to get worse and worse? Can THEY do something about this? May the Lord Jesus Christ help us all, so that we may be able to serve those who need us, in his Name. May God Bless us all.
