Okay! If I can't vent to AN, where else can I go?! I've been up for nearly 48 hrs.

I had 2 clinical assignments due today as well as had sim lab.

I think i wrote 10-14 pages!

Plus I am taking a statistics class, which I attended yesterday evening.

To complain some more: I will probably need to find a job soon, so that my rent can continue to be paid.

I'm trying hard not to complain. But I'm feeling overwhelmed! But I can do this? Yes?!?! I can!?!!

PS oh and I'm sick. Coughing. Hoorifice voice. Dyspnea. But i feel fine. I passed my last exam for my final semester. I can do this, right?!

I'm continue to think of those folks who believed (believe) I am smart and can do this.

RN here I come. I hope!!!!!!!!

I understand your rant, but:

You might be sick because you are not taking care of yourself. YOU come first. Learn to prioritize your time so you can get all of your tasks done and still get at least 7 hours of sleep, that way you are able to SAFELY provide 100% of your care to your patients.

I went through a 4 year traditional BSN program with 2 children in multiple activities, a job, and I always still got 7-8 hours of sleep every night, and got great grades, which was not easy but can be done. Learning how to prioritize work and get stuff done ahead of time instead of last minute will save you a ton of stress! Good luck!

Thank you. I know I've got to set aside time to do things that are healthy--such as exercise, cooking healthy meals, etc. thanks!

Sorry to hear that you are going through this. Do you work 36+ hrs while in school?

No I don't work at all. That's why I feel guilty feeling like this. I am living my dream. Going to nursing school, while being financially ok without the pressure of work.

Sometimes, I think working would be good, because it would keep me too busy to worry/stress out.

I am a single parent though. I won't use that as an excuse though, he's an easy child who goes along well with the routine. I'm so proud of him for being able to get up early at 4:30am when I have clinicals, etc.

Nursing school stress just exhausts me. I think the closer I get to being done, the more I worry about finding a good job, that will eventually allow me to work in the area I want.

I do know/think that as a new grad, my options will be limited. But I want to work somewhere that at least gives me good experience toward working in the area I want.

For example, nurses who work in LTC, at least in my area, for a long period of time, are considered less desirable than new grads. I worry about having to work in an area like this.

While I adore geriatric and psych and other long term care populations, I don't want to get stuck. And many of my former colleagues told me this will occur.

I also worry about affording the extra costs associated with graduating: Pearsonview fees, state board fees, fingerprinting fees, ACLS cert cost, NCLEX prep. Not to even think about the cost of the nursing pon my school is pushing.

I enjoy nursing, I think I just worry a lot. [emoji52]

Well you don't have to buy the pin your school wants. I skipped my LPN pinning ceremony because we had to buy a nursing scrub dress, white hat, white stockings, white shoes, and pin. It was over $200 for stuff I wouldn't wear again. It was ridiculous!

Make sure your school hasn't already included some NCLEX prep as part of your fees. Some schools build in the cost of a prep class, ATI guides, and the NCLEX test as part of their tuition.

Xoemmylouox: I'm probably skipping the pin. At my school, they have asked us students to pay for a test prep course that will be held at school after graduation, they told us the cost last week.

I skipped my LVN pinning. It wasn't a big deal to me. This seems like a bigger deal, but probably it isn't. My instructors keep saying we'll regret not buying the pin.......
