Hello has anyone took the entrance exam for the veeb lpn program in long island if so how was it?

Received my results today & i passed!!! I got a 12.9 in both reading and math i took my test on march 26

I for one would be VERY VERY interested in your guide on how to approach the teachers and classes. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Thank You. How many drugs is given to memorize, where did you get your books, does tutoring really help and what is a good A&P book to get to get a head start for someone that doesn't have a clue about it? I was recommended the Morton's flash cards for Pharm.

No

I went and gave my deposit and all they gave me was my receipt and an information packet for Financial Aid but I already submitted mine couple of days ago.

If you paid the 2k deposit and got accepted then that's that I suppose next would be an email talking about orientation soon

I did my orientation in August but I know there are some who did it in July or maybe sooner.

Classes are insane Felder with her pharmacology and drugs are the worse. She gives you this chart during orientation that has measurements

like 30ml = 1 fl oz

also like 1 oz = 2 tbsp

She calls it her platinum chart and you should do your best to memorize it top to bottom cause she does like a secret pop quiz and its the basis for like your first quiz and the whole semester in general

And she also throws alot of drugs at you first semester and she just want basic stuff like trade generic and the action but the basics she wants and the drugs she uses all come up again in second semester when its the most intense crazy thing ever

like every test for her expect around 10-20 drugs and you have to know trade generic adverse effects actions patient teachings etc. and if you paid attention first semester the fact that she introduced them first really helps

I can go on for hours about all the teachers and classes but i'm actually studying for a test right now i'm in the middle of second it really is worlds apart from the first semester in terms of how much more difficult it is.

You have to maintain a 70 average in every class and pass clinicals so it's crazy like you could be killing it in A&P with like a 90 average but if your a 68 in felders then your still kicked out. So you have to be on top of your game early.

Maybe I will write a little guide or something if it generates enough interest on how to approach the teachers and such and what to expect.

But way too intense at the moment in fact this is me procrastinating because I should be learning about the stages of labor we have a test on that on Monday then a test on respiratory system on Wednesday and a test on respiratory diseases on Friday. Its literally always like that after about 2 months.

I paid my deposit and I have a paper saying this student was accepted in to the PN 2015 program but they didn't tell me anything from there, like what's the next step. But how are classes, is it really intense? And do your start clinical your first module?

Yes the program is intense. You start clinicals about october. And you start in a nursing home. Lots of bed baths, feeding patients, nursing assessments, making care plans, learning to give meds etc.

Busy with semester 2 finals which btw semester 2 the hardest out of all three (Everyone says it)

So really hoping I make it to third.

That week break I get I will start to work on a little guide and maybe even finish it up

You should ace everything by the time i'm done!!

Just hope VEEBS don't have me assassinated or something for giving away all their precious secrets lawlz
