VEEB LPN Program (info request)

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Sorry i could nt respond sooner, my husband and a couple of my friends went to the poconos for 3 days. But i did try to respond around 12 am it would nt let me. But yeah i have my results. I gave them my 1500.00 deposit. I will c u guys in sept 09...

My process is different than u guys, i already have my seat b/c i was on the wait list.but u guys have to bring your ref. Letters in order to receive the acceptance letter. When u receive ur acceptance letter it will include the time frame for u to pay ur 1500.00 my letter last year gave me approx. 2 weeks to bring the deposit in (it was 1000.00 last year). Then they will give u the website to apply for financial aid. I strongly suggest u get through this process quickly so u know what u are working with, due to the economy most likely u will have to come out of pocket again...

I passed also! Received the letter today and I took the test 2/17....waiting for my reference letters!

driven why were you on the waiting list did you not pay the previous deposit on time?? And if you were on the waiting list why did they make you retest?? What happened last year, did you test late??

rProspectivestudent, i choose not to attend in sept08 b/c i work for the new york times and i was promoted to circulation manager. I was already making good money and on top of that the gave me a 30k raise.

Which made my salary close to 100k year. I would have been a fool not to take it. Due to the economy new nyt laid off 550 people in my dept. I still work for the nyt but in a diff dept and had to take a pay decrease from a manager to a supervisor. But i still make good money, and what i dont have my husband will give me. I drive a benz he drives a lexus and we have 2 beautiful kids.

So money is not and issue for me. At this point in my life a need to be in a recession proof field that will pay me the money i am use to. And thats a RN As far as retesting, thats veebs policy. My test date last year was 2/12...

ok just wanted to know how the wait list works. I thought maybe if you couldn't get your references in on time or you didn't pay the deposit that you were automatically wait listed. Thank you for the clarity. But I can totally understand why you want to be in a recession proof field I think we all want that security of knowing that we will always have a good paying job. Hope you didnt take any offense to my thread, I just wanted to know what I could do to ensure a seat for Sept. 09. I find it a little unfair to make someone retest if they were accepted from the previous year but if thats there policy than I guess you gotta do it but most schools dont make you retest but normally those schools have 2 entrance periods.

But thank you for the info . . . . .its just when you think of wait list you think of veeb accepting more than 200 people for security purposes because they still have to meet that quota before sept. Much success to you!

I spoke to a friend today that told me veeb is putting testing on hold for right now and anyone who wants to still test would have to call back next week. I guess they wanna try to get those other exams graded and out to everyone. So whoever didnt receive there's yet dont panic they should be coming soon!

Congratulations to all who passed so far! I am starting to get nervous abuot recieving my results! I have a question for you all. Obviously, its a good idea to get the 2 reference letters together ahead of time. But I would be so embarrased if I asked people to write letters for me and then I ended up failing the test (hope not!). So do you think its ok to ask people to write the letters even if I havent recieved my results yet? I just want to be ready!
