Vanderbilt University CRNA Program - April 2026 start

Published

Hello everyone!

As I'm sure everyone knows, Vanderbilt is projected to open applications in August for the new DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program. I wanted to start this discussion thread for those thinking about applying, so we can discuss updates or any advice for first time CRNA school applicants such as myself. Best of luck to you all!

Aspiring SRNA here applying this cycle, I am also getting my documents ready, goodluck everyone 😊

Hey guys! Following the thread here. About done with the application but wanted to see how everyone felt about Vanderbilt in general. On one hand I think being apart of the first cohort has advantages, potentially more grace since they have to show good on attrition/first time pass rates. On the other hand, you're the first cohort so nothing is set in stone yet. Slightly worried about competing over OR time with residents. Overall, I guess you have to trust in the reputation of Vanderbilt as an institution. Wanted to see if anyone else has wrestled with these questions/ has any other thoughts. Thanks!

I do understand your worries and I do worry about investing thousands of dollars into a new school and essentially being the school's guinea pig but ultimately I have to trust in the reputation of Vanderbilt like you said & trust that God will carry me throughout the program. Hopefully it all works out well and I can become a CRNA at the end of the day.

Quick question, do you guys think a lot of people will apply for this program? Just trying to gauge the competition level.
