I have an interview in two weeks for the Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program. Does anyone know how their interview process is? They said it will be 2-3 people on a panel, but I would really like to hear from someone who has done this program...any info would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats on your interview jessicamcrn what type of questions did they ask?

thank you so much

what track did you choose? I chose critical care as my first and L/D as second

Your welcome. I chose women's health first then acute adult care. When is your interview?

my interview is on the 17th next friday!!! was it hard finding the office,, they gave me a long list of instructions to follow

No it wasn't hard to find, but then again I had been there before. When you exit onto Broadway it turns into West End Drive. When looking for 2525 building (it's on the left), look for the shopping complex that has a Border's bookstore, a P.F. Changs resaurant, and some other stores in it. After you see the building turn left at the light that comes up next and make another left into that shopping complex. The parking garage is right there. The office building is above all of those stores so it looks odd. If you park on the third floor then you can just use the walkway over to the building.

So you will be in your interview at the exact same time as I am taking my exit Hesi! Well then, good luck to the both of us!!!:yeah:

Hey guys!

RoxieJay- I saw you interviewed today- How did it go? I'm a week from Wednesday- October 29th. My first choice was adult critical care/ then peds.. I'm excited. Any tidbits of info to share? By the way- did anyone who interviewed get shift diffs or critical care diff? I don't know why but when I spoke to the recruiter I didn't get those numbers! Any other info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! I had my interview last Monday and I was told that shift diffs are $3.00 for eves, $3.50 for nights, and $6.00 for weekends. Nurse residents earn $18.25/hr and critical care areas earn $19.50/hr. My first choice is Peds (Critical Care - NICU), and second choice is Women's Health. The interview questions were very similar to those listed above - what was my favorite/least favorite class, how do I go about learning, what was my proudest accomplishment in nursing school, how do I educate my patients, have I ever had a clinical situation where my actions made a significant difference, etc. The interviewers were extremely nice, and hopefully I made a good enough impression to get hired! Let's all keep in touch so we can know when residency offers go out!!!! Good Luck to everyone!!!

I recently toured Vanderbilt while I was at the AMSN convention and if I lived in Tenn, I would definitely try to get a job there. Everyone was friendly and knowledgable and the place is very impressive
