Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program Summer 2013

This thread is for those who are applying for the nurse residency program at Vanderbilt. I thought this would be a great place to keep up to date Inge selection process and make connections with new friends and colleagues. I am currently in my final year of nursing school at UCCS in Colorado. My goals are to be accepted for the adult critical care track an then return to school and become a CRNA. I know the job market is very competitive, especially for residency programs. I completed the online application 2 days ago and am waiting to hear back for more instructions. Good luck to everyone:)

So I have been reading everything trying to get some reassurance but nothing is working...I think it's making my anxiety worse. I saw there were only 4 women's health nurse residents last time. I keep running the I retire through my head and wanting to say something different or add things in....ugh. 2 more days and I hope to know something.

Every time my phone rings with an email I swear my heart skips a beat. I bet we will get them in waves like we did for the interviews...I interviewed for Peds and my friend who interviewed for Critical Care found out about an hour earlier than I did. So someone post on here when you get an email and we will know that they are all coming, good or bad!

well.. dont bother emailing them cause i tried, this was the response.. Our selection process/ Hiring selection team meets…and then also our follow-up occurs mid-April...not too far away.

That sounds like a good idea. I know I personally check this site like 20x's a day to see if anyone had heard anything. I'm super anxious!

Did anyone feel really good about their interview? I am so nervous! I really could not tell what they thought of me.

I feel like I screwed the whole interview up. I prepared 9 pages of mock interview behavioral questions and I didn't get a single one of those. I feel like I was stretching to answer some questions cause my brain was shut off and could not remember any experiences when in all reality I'm a jabber box and can talk for hours....I hope it went better than I feel that it did.

I have talked to some of my friends that are/were nurse residents and the dates of emails were april 7th-april 13th... so we are getting close. fingers crossed.
