Vanderbilt BSN - NP Program Applicants Fall 2010

Hi!

I applied to the ACNP program for fall 2010. I already have my BSN. The wait is killing me. Where did you get the date of Feb.? Just curious because I haven't been able to really get a specific date that they will let you know. Good luck!!

I called them and they told me that end of Feb date. Do you know how they can do the MSN in 1 year? It blows my mind!

Yeah...it is a lot to get done in one year, but I am looking forward to just getting it done and over. Do you still have to get your BSN before you start the FNP program? How long does that take?

Yes, I still have to get my BSN. It is one year for the BSN and one year for the MSN. I know they do distance programs, would you be going in Nashville or elsewhere?

Hey, y'all. Just some Vandy info for those who are interested. The direct entry program for those who are not yet RNs is the same, whether one has a degree or has just the required prereqs. One full year (August to August) is geared

solely toward generalist nurse training...then you can sit for the NCLEX. The 2nd year (sometimes longer) is where the nurse practitioner training comes in; this can be done in Nashville or elsewhere, depending on the program. The BSN is not awarded at the end of the first year; you have what's known as a "BSN Equivalent". This is due to the fact that you must come in with a number of transfer credits, but will not take enough courses that first year for Vandy to award the BSN. So you just scoot right past that and then are awarded the MSN at the completion of the program.

Hey guys, I have applied to the FNP Fall 2010, and I am still waiting to hear something. The wait is driving me crazy, Do you guys know when the open house is? I thought I saw March 20 on the web site, but someone mentioned March 6 on here?

unfortunately, i am unable to attend the open house. im in texas right now. i went to check it out in jan though so that was good! are you going? i would love to talk to you more to hear what you think/find out!

I got my letter today.... WAIT LIST for the pre-specialty PNP-Primary Care Program.... I guess thats not terrible considering I applied after the December 1st deadline. Anyone else in a similar situation? What are my chances of getting off the wait list, or is it hopeless???? :eek:
