I just submitted my application to this program and I'm hoping for the best. Anyone else here applying?
I everyone! I saw the thread and wanted to ease some of your worries- there will be plenty of time for anxiety when you start the program lol. I'm currently a Nursing 3 student in the concurrent program. My GPA as a 3.02 (ugh) and I had a TEAS of 86. Also, they take FOREVER to send the acceptance letters out because UCF choses their students, then VCC,SSC.
Thanks so much for the insight! If you don't mind me asking, how much do you study? My study habits are horrendous, so I'm most worried about that. Thanks again!!
ALSO (not intended to offend anyone) but from what I have heard at clinical, the VCC students are the most prepared for real life in the hospital. Concurrent gives you the best of all worlds- community college price, best clinical prep in the area, and you finish with a BSN! By far the best choice you can make!
My study habits are terrible too, and they change every semester, and sometimes every test! Something I've noticed with everyone in my class is you never really know what you're doing lol. Sometimes I'll study for 5 hours every day of the week, sometimes I'll forget to study for an entire week. I tend to take "me" time as much as possible to keep myself sane. You'll figure out how much you can get away with once you get started.
Reading from another thread looks like we should know about SSC this friday if anyone applied to that program. Going to be so sad when i get denied from that because of that dumb one credit nutrition class. Going to put even more stress on me trying to get into Valencia. Also has anyone asked how many had applied to Valencia or SSC? Wasnt sure whether anyone asked that question or not i wish we could just have one active thread on these two programs but this one has been the most active since the beginning so thank you guys! Talking to everyone really brings my stress levels down alot
If I did not go to a information session, do you think I will get denied because of that. I know that it is recommended but will it deny me
I asked bc I was unable to go bc of work. I went to the UCF one but not the Valencia one. The lady at Valencia said it was ok, thats it's recommended that you go but not required.

It's one of the "requirements" on the traditional application's checklist but I'm sure it's just so you're actually prepared to apply. As long as you meet the academic requirements I'm sure you'll be fine :)
