Valencia Fall 2019

Hello everyone! I can’t seem to find a thread for FALL 2019 for Valencia college. So I decided to make one and see when others have put their applications in and all that good stuff.

Good day to all. I have been reading these threads and i'm happy to know i am not the only one who is feeling anxious to know if we got accepted into the nursing program this Fall.

For me, I applied late like approximately a week after May 15 of this year. I did not received any email regarding if my application was received or not, however, my status does say submitted when i look online. I was in the notion that i'll probably be looking to get into Spring 2020 given my application time. I was told that i should look out for an email in June regarding the Fall semester and if not then it will be an email sometime in October 2019. I was surprised at this remark and I asked if its still possible that they would consider me for Fall of this year. There was not much information given but i'm not sure if i should take that as a wink wink or don't really think too much of it. Since then, i started checking my email every day. I'm okay with getting into Spring 2020 but if its possible that i could still get into Fall, i'll happily take the spot if granted to me.

I was not able to apply to SCC for this fall because i had a prerequisite outstanding and I didn't take my TEAS as yet. If I do not get accepted into Valencia this Fall, i'll also be applying to SCC so that i don't have all my eggs in one basket for the Spring 2020. My GPA is 4.0 in the Sciences and my overall GPA is 3.9. My TEAS score though is 77.8. I'm thinking to retake the TEAS end of this month to see if i can get a better grade so that i can qualify to apply to SCC.

Base on the threads I have read so far chances are i might get wait-listed for Valencia. A huge part of me is hoping i could still get in this Fall because i really would like to start my nursing career. Last week I emailed the Health department at Valencia asking them if they have received my application because i haven't heard anything from them. I also ask them if i would still be considered for this Fall given that my application was submitted late. They replied saying that they received my application and that they are reviewing it for this Fall. Not sure if that is an automated email to put my hopes up idk. But i'm more eager now to know if i got accepted or not for Fall semester.

Honestly with a GPA like yours, I would definitely consider retaking the TEAs and study super hard! You could go to UCF program, or even the concurrent programs. I think you could get into fall! Like me, I’m being hopeful that I will as well?

Thank you for the encouragement ?. Honestly speaking i got a bit defeated. I haven't finished up my AA and have four more outstanding courses to complete. I was suppose to do them this Summer but i got so frustrated and well i just needed a break. I have been going to school all through the year none stop just to finish up. This time after getting that TEAS score i just say heck with it and then applied to Valencia. But if i don't get into Fall I'll be taking the four classes in Fall while waiting for Spring 2020. When i took the TEAS the first time i didn't study and i went into it with the intention of using it as a trial to see what the test is like. I wasn't expecting to feel disappointed since i knew i didn't study but apart of me did. I'm currently taking TEAS class now and will take it again soon.

I truly hope you get into this Fall. Your hard work will not go unnoticed ?. Praying for the best for everyone.

We all need some encouragement sometimes. Literally it’s taken me four years to decide on a major and of course when I chose nursing I had so many extra classes to take. I got super frustrated with my TEAs and part of me wished that I would’ve taken it more serious because I truly wanted to go to Seminole state, but my score wasn’t up to pair for them apparently. God always has a plan though!!

Enjoy your summer bc you never know you might be starting nursing soon. ?

I have millions of questions. How was your experience in nursing 1? What advice do you give to someone so they can be successful in that class

Which campus you were in? I was in west campus. Let me know if you hear something from them. Also, when did you start nursing 1 originally. I was in in spring 2019 In Nur1.

I can say my experience was not too bad. I just wasn’t ready mentally for that much stress. My advice for you would be start practicing dosage and calculations. Also, if you can afford not to work please don’t work. And get ready to read, it’s no joke. Our first test was over 17 chapters, not to scare you. I’m just want to give you an idea on how much reading you gonna have to do. As long as you know how to manage your time, you’ll do great. Good luck

I was in west campus. I haven’t heard anything yet. I also started in spring 2019. I’m impatiently waiting on them ?

Good morning all!! Fingers crossed we all get news this week! Last year those applying for fall got the emails on the 25th/26th. Valencia’s website is down for me this morning so I can’t frantically check my emails, lol! I hope everyone gets good news!!
