Hi guys! I am pretty new here and wanted to start a thread for anyone that might be starting Valencia College's RN program in Spring of 2015. I know it seems far off but I have been hearing a lot about students being asked to take seats in one or two semesters ahead of time.
I recently took my TEAS exam and that same day I passed, I put in my application to the RN program. It currently states that it is submitted and to allow 10-12 weeks for a response. This is going to kill me! I want to my acceptance letter now. lol.
Anyone else going to be starting in Spring 2015? Or anyone that is starting sooner have any info or advice? Thank you!:)

Hey do you have your prerequisite done ? Is it true you can apply before you finish you prerequisite? Let me know how it goes :)
Hi, yes I have all my pre reqs done. As soon as my grades posted I went and took the TEAS exam passed it and subbmitted my application the same day. No you can not apply until all your pre reqs are done. They have also changed many rules on getting into to program. you now have to have:
New Application Requirements:
Minimum overall college GPA (including transfer coursework) will be 3.2.
Minimum overall GPA in the science prerequisites (Anatomy & Physiology I and II and Microbiology) will be 3.0.
Minimum overall GPA in the other nursing prerequisites (PSY2012, DEP2004, ENC1101, HUN2202, and Humanities) will be 3.2.
So The GPA isnt 2.5 anymore. If you havent looked recently into the program check it out and get lots of info. So many things have changed.
Good Luck!!
I saw the new requirements, I have a long way to go but I'm planning in cleping a few classes and hopefully get my stuff done as soon a possible, any ideas ? I hear different stories about the lpn to rn program. Some say there is no wait list , some say is long and hard to get in ....I was even considering excelsior . I just want to start the process and finish it . I hope it all goes well for you :)

What did you happen to get on the TEAS? I plan on applying to the program when this semester grades are posted. Or do you happen to know what the TEAS score needs to be? Thanks a lot!
Chad
I dont remember my exact score since it was a long time ago. But I do know you need a 64.9% adjusted individual total score. Good Luck! I have been admitted into Spring 2015. Although I believe I will be starting sooner. Everyone that I have seen have been starting 1-2 semesters earlier. fingers crossed!!
