Valencia College Nursing - Summer 2019

Happy Wednesday, nursing hopefuls!

I have yet to find a thread for Valencia College's applicants to the Summer 2019 programs, so I figured I'd start one to see who else is out there! The priority deadline just passed (yesterday, Jan. 15th), so now the long wait begins!

Has anyone else out there applied for upcoming seats in the Traditional, Accelerated, or Concurrent programs? I'd love some company in the long journey toward application results!

Hi, yes let's cross them! My only concern is that they will have some sort of mandatory meeting right near Spring break and I won't be here. (That's assuming I get in to the summer program.)

Hi there,

I also applied to the summer 2019 program in December. My application still says "incomplete" and to choose a payment option. I sent in a check and got the receipt emailed to me weeks ago but it still hasn't been updated. Is anyone else having this problem?

I would go to the billing office and find out what's going on. If you have the receipt, bring it with you so they can put the correct date with your application as "paid" so your application is put in line how it should be. Otherwise you will be behind so many and that wouldn't be fair.

I applied for daytime traditional with a preference for the Osceola campus! I would take whichever campus is offered, but Osceola is super close. You?

Hey, welcome!

I actually had a similar issue. When I submitted the application, I went to the payment selection page, opted to pay at Business Office, and it then let me complete the payment online through their portal. After I submitted my payment online, it seem like nothing had happened. I went back to the payment selection page and selected the in-person option again. By doing this, I inadvertently generated a second fee for the same application (which delayed review because it looked like the app fee was unpaid). I had to contact the Business Office and the Health Sciences application inbox to get the second fee removed. After that was fixed, the application was reviewed on the next business day. (Of course, I then encountered a new hurdle with my TEAS scores, but that's a different topic, lol)

I agree with @BSN2277; go talk to the Business Office. I would also reach out to the Health Sciences application inbox and make them aware of what happened with your fee. It would be devastating to get waitlisted over a processing problem.

Quick question, where do you all go on the atlas page to see if your application has gone through and is completed? Maybe I'm going to the wrong area.

Go to your atlas and sign in. Then click on the “students” tab. In the middle of the page you will see Student Forms-select “Applications” there. A scroll down menu will appear. Then click on Health Sciences Online Applications. Your application should show up in red with the date and progress. It should say “application submitted.”
