Valencia College ADN Spring 2019

Published

Hi,

I have been looking for a spring 2019 thread but I have not found one, so I decided to make one. I have applied to Valencia College nursing program spring 2019, and just wanted to connect with others who are doing the same! I'm excited and nervous at the same time, I hope I can get in!

Yes, I heard the concurrent program is very competitive, and you need a high GPA and pass the teas with at least a 78%. It doesn't hurt to try! I can't wait to start!!!

Does anybody know anything about what the schedule will look like? I'm definitely nervous about how I'll balance school and work.

I'm not too sure about the day program or concurrent. Ihave a friend who is now on nursing oneevenings, and his schedule is Tuesday and Wednesday6pm-9pm and Saturday( lab) is 8am-6pm.

I hear it is competitive as well. I've also heard though that there is no waiting list for it; so you may sometimes have to wait an extra semester for the traditional program, but the concurrent always starts the semester you're applying for.

Oh, thanks for that information! I'm glad to hear it's not 5/6 days a week. I can definitely make 2-3 days work. I assume the concurrent would probably add one extra day on then.

Hey guys,

I summited my application for spring 2019, do any of y'all know how many people were waitlisted for fall?

That's a good question. I'm not really sure. I looked at the fall thread and saw a few people mentioned they were added to the waitlist, so I imagine there's a decently-sized list. When I went to an information session last year I remember them saying they were planning on accepting more people though this year, so the waitlist may end up not being too much of a problem. I imagine if you have fairly competitive grades and TEAS score you should be okay.

Valencia college is first come first serve as long as you meet the requirements, So it doesn't matter if you got a super high teas scores. I am just impatiently waiting to hear something.

I also heard that it is first come, first serve. Also, I've heard that evening classes did not get filled up. I could be wrong though.

Hon everyone,

I have been waitlisted for the spring 2019. Anybody know when is the orientation?

Oh wow, waitlisted already? I would assume orientation would be sometime in November

Were you in the application pool for this fall? If so, I think they reach out to people on the waitlist at the same time they send out acceptances for people applying for spring; so some time in Oct, and that's when they'll send info about orientation.

Hey, I applied for Spring 2019 and submitted my app back in July but I'm pretty nervous! Anyone hear anything yet? I'm trying to find resources to prepare or to get ahead if anyone has any ideas how to? Good luck!
