Hi,

I am new here , I am going to start in January of 2015 at Valencia. I just received a email that I can start this August 2014 but I declined. Please any body have any infomation on what I will need to do before my start. I heard some people said u have to get some type of vaccation /CPR I am lost please help.

They will email you all of the information a few months before you start. You need to have your vaccinations up to date and you'll need your BLS CPR from the AHA (it's good for 2 years, so just wait until like October to get it). They will give you all the information. Congrats!

Thank you for the information I appreciate it . Are you currently taking any classes now at Valencia ?

Yes, I'm in the nursing program right now.

Yes, I'm in the nursing program right now.

I'm a nursing student at Valencia as well and I had a question about nursing 2. I just passed nursing 1 and now heading to nursing 2. What advice can you give about being successful in nursing 2? I've heard a lot of people say if you barely pass nursing 1 you won't pass nursing 2. Any advice would be great.

Congratulations!! hope I can advise you but I am not yet there I will be starting nursing in January. How was nursing I?

For Nursing I, you'll have to be up to date on your vaccinations if you haven't had any recently (Measles, Rubella, Chicken Pox, Hepatitis B, Tdap). You will also need to do TB Screening, take the CPR class, have a Physical Exam done, Flu Shot, N95 Fit test, background check, & finger prints. They'll send you all the information, but I listed them from my Certified Profile in case you wanna get a headstart.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Sure in Nursing 1 you just started to critically think, but at least in 2 the information and material make more sense. Nursing I was just blah to me, because it wasn't anything I could relate to. At least with Nursing II it actually involves diseases processes and pathophysiology so it's more concrete.

I think the best thing you can do to be successful in passing Nursing II is read, stay ahead, and do practice questions from either Saunders, NCLEX 3000, or Lippincott. Try to establish a good base in II, because IV really requires you to touch on what you learned in II.
