Hello! I understand the vastus lateralis is the recommended place for IM injections for immunizations for babies and toddlers. But what about Subcutaneous? I read "anterior outer thigh". Is it the same place but we are just using different sized needles and angles? Thank you!

I've always given subq injections higher up on the thigh than the vastus lateralis.
Thank you!
