i'm getting ready to start my cna class in a few weeks. i'm wondering do i have to have any vaccinations done, before i start class?

When I took my CNA course two years ago, all I had to provide were the vaccinations that you get at birth, which my High School had record of. When I started the course we had to get a TB skin test, but the hospital I completed my clinicals in privided that for the whole class.

thank you so much for replying.:D i appreciate the information.

every state is different :). I know from my online research there are some that require chicken pox, hep b, and others before you can sign up. my state just wanted proof of mmr.

thanks sonomala,

i stop by my local health department earlier in the week, found out i'm needing mmr, hep. b & tb test. i still don't know what i need for my the cna class.

i've been trying to get ahold of someone in the school. as of right now no such luck.

thanks!

I am taking my CNA course in Texas and they required DPT (Diphtheria Pertussis and Tetorifice) and the first round of Hep B. Now if you're planning to work in the medical field, it's recommended that you get all three rounds of Hep B. Hope this helps!

I know that every state and institution has different requirements but my CNA program required a two step PPD (Tuberculosis) as well as TDaP (Tetorifice, Diphtheria and Pertussis) Vericella and Hep B (Hepatitis B) shots.
