Vaccinations and nursing

Is it possible to be a nurse nad not be vaccinated or perform any vaccinations? Wiht all the contriversy behind this topic I was very curious if it was possible I've heard that to get into nursing programs most of the time they require vaccinations (correct me if I'm wrong) This was new news to me.

We had to be vaccinated against hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox. Check with your individual school. We didn't have to have them before being accepted but did have to have them before starting clinicals.

Hep B was required for nursing school where I was; but then, I had no reason not to want to protect myself so I would not have questioned this. I would ask the schools of nursing for waivers. I am sure, based on religious or moral/ethic reasons, a person should be able to refuse vaccination and yet gain entry to school. I am sure there is a way to relieve the school/clinical sites of responsibility, assuming it on one's own and be a nurse, sure.
