VA Hospital Travelers

Has anyone out there been a traveler at a VA hospital? I just got signed on a contract and want to know what to expect, since it is a federal job. Thanks!

Gnurs, you could probably ride that pony through 30Sept and then get renewed in the new fiscal year.. The need is still there the problem is the budget and credentialing. It takes so long to get people through the pipline they drop out and take other jobs.

How did that contract work out for you? Word on the street says the Houston VA is looking for MedSurg travelers again. There is a company advertising 20 new slots including the Spinal Cord floor.

I worked a contract at the Ann Arbor VA. Nice job good ratios BUT .... it's total care. You draw your labs, you give your nebs, etc. My 13 week contract ended early becasue September 30th rolled around and I couldn't afford to play the "wait and see" game with funding for the next year. It did not take anywhere near 45 dasy to get my VetPro.
