I'm not sure which facility you are applying to, but I love working at my VA. As a nurse, it is a great job with great benefits. Each facility is different, though. I love the fact that if my patient needs a special bed at home, we can get it for him/her. If the patient needs ostomy supplies, I can furnish them to him/her. And it is full, head to toe, nursing. I don't know about other facilities. Nor can I respond to the question about transfers. I know that it now does take time to get in, but it is worth the wait!

Hello allnurses,
I've started applying to the VA Hospital in my state the location thats currently hiring are hiring for day shift & its an hour away. For those of you that currently work for the VA, what r the work conditions like??? Anyone know what the interview questions r like & how long the process is, from what I've heard its pretty slow. I called the recruiter & my application has been moved to the next phase, but that was over a month ago & they still haven't called for an interview & I have job offers already. Does anyone know how long you must wait before you can transfer to another facility???
From what I understand they have the best deal in town, anyone that works for a facility please feel free to elaborate on your experiences :)
Thanks in advance
