VA Hiring Process During COVID

Hi everyone! Would love to get any advice that I can. I applied for a clinic RN position at the VA and so far the timeline has been as follows:

Applied 07/19/2020

Position closed 7/31/2020

Referred 08/07/2020

Contacted to schedule interview on 08/14/2020

Interview scheduled for 08/17/2020

My questions are: what effect has COVID had on the VAs hiring process? Are things moving faster or slower because of the pandemic? Any interview tips for me? I plan to take a copy of my resume and references to the interview in hopes that it goes well!

Hi, new here! Just got hired as RN2 at VA Los Angeles. Here's my timeline:

7/21/2020            submitted application on VA website.

7/27/2020            closing date for applicants to submit online app.

8/12/2020            telephone interview w/ nursing panel. 

8/27/2020            Recvd Tentative Offer and accepted Tentative offer online.

9/02/2020            Fingerprinting appointment

9/09/2020            Physical and Drug testing appointment

9/11/2020            Submitted background investigation (e-QIP)

9/15/2020            signed and submitted vetpro

10/27/2020          credentialing completed in vetpro (took long b/c I’m a foreign grad).

12/8/2020            Received FIRM OFFICIAL offer (via phone call, then recvd email.  Accepted offer online). 

1/4/2021              First Day (New Employee Orientation = NEO)

Wow, our time tables were very similar. It's such a long process but I'm being bought on as RN 2 too so its def been worth it! I finally got my final offer too, my first day is 12/21/20! Thanks for sharing!

Hi! 
I applied back in June finally got interview Sept 7th 2021. Interview went well asked for references at end of interview! Got tentative offer 3 weeks later on 9/30/21. Filled out all onboarding paperwork online and submitted. Fingerprint completed on 10/8/21. I go for my physical tomorrow. I was told by my HR rep that I did not have to complete the KSAs for the nursing board. Not sure why, I have not heard anything from HR in over a week. So just waiting I have no idea what’s next ? or when the official offer will come. I also never received email for vetpro and no one has returned my email. Been a nurse 8 years and have BSN.
