VA hiring process
2 days after my phone interview, I recvd an email requesting references. I immediately replied to the email and sent the hiring manager a word doc listing 4 references (1 had to be be a nursing reference to attest to my nursing abilities). I included the reference name, email and phone #. I then recvd a tentative job offer 2 weeks after my phone interview. Hope this helps.

VA hiring process 2020
Offer was decent. I took a slight paycut from my current salary. But to have every weekend off, every holiday off, 26 days of VAC and 13 days of sick time is pretty priceless. Plus, the retirement benefits can't be beat. So, I was OK w/ taking the slight paycut. My advice is to just stay in close contact w/ your HR rep (the person who sent the tentative offer). My HR rep was very good. She kept me posted at all times and immediately answered every email I sent her. Best of luck!

VA
Just sharing my experience. I first reviewed the VA job openings where I felt I had the qualifications based on the job descriptions. I narrowed it down to 2 jobs. I applied for both job openings. I tailored EACH of the resumes to match what was in the job description. I got referred for both positions and received an email from each of the hiring managers to submit 4 references (1 reference had to be a nurse reference that can attest to my nursing skills). I simply typed up the references in word doc (included name, email address and phone # of each reference). I ended up interviewing for one of the jobs (the other, I recvd a thank you email stating they decided not to move forward w/ me). From job interview to receiving final offer took 4 months! It was a long process, but very happy I landed the VA bc it seems so hard to get in! Hope this helps!

VA HIRING Process 2020
I was asked to provide 4 references (name, address, email and phone #) on a word doc. 1 of the references had to be specifically a nurse reference (I.e. a peer) that can speak about my nursing abilities. My references were not asked to write letters. They were called and were asked a series of questions (I.e. would you recommend this person, etc). Hope this helps!

Official job offer was first received via phone call. As soon as we hung up, the written offer was emailed to me immediately. Hope this helps!
