Hey Folks, I thought I'd start this thread for the UW Oshkosh ACELL for the Fall 2016 Cohort. I did not see a thread started; if I missed it, let me know!
How did everyone do on the TEAS V? I had to take mine twice because I made a major goof the first time around. Are all of you obsessively checking your UWOSH email multiple times a day too?

Hey! I also had to take my TEAS V twice. I am terrible at math and didn't meet requirements on that the first time through, luckily all my scores went up the second time I took it.
I had been checking my e-mail constantly as well, but yesterday I got the acceptance! I know of 2 other girls that are in one of my classes now too that got in as well. Hope others are hearing now too!

Obsessively checking UW-Osh email? Check!
Nice work, meierkd23! I'm crossing my fingers still. :)
Oregon Nurse, what area are you in? I'm in the Lebanon, OR area.
meierkd23, congrats! Thanks for the heads up; I just checked my email and I got accepted as well! What a huge relief to a very lengthy nail-biting process. I think the emails from UWOSH are coming in waves; I'm crossing my fingers for everyone!
It was the math that toasted me as well in the TEAS V. My only excuse is when I called the testing site ahead of time they said I would be able to use a non-programmable calculator only to find out when I showed up, no calculators allowed. Me and long division with pencil and paper have not been very close for a couple decades. However, I brushed up on my basic skills and got a MUCH better score the second time around.
PacificNWNurse, keep hanging in there. I think the emails are coming in waves a few at a time. You are in Lebanon; how cool is that! I am just Northwest of Corvallis, OR! Kind of fun to find a fellow Oregonian in the Willamette Valley too!
Keep us posted if you hear anything. I have a glimmer of hope of a story to share if anyone does not get in the first time around.

Hi everyone, just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck as you guys go through this long application process. This will be an extremely difficult and emotional time for you guys, but may also be one of the best decisions of your life.
I just graduated from the program this may, and am studying for my NCLEX. One thing I wish I had was a student who gone before me to answer all the questions and get answers you can't find on the website.
If you have any questions, I'll definitely try to check this page Daily and answer everything to the best of my ability.
Again Good luck!!!

Hello Kyryke,
I just was accepted into the program in May! I was wondering if you thought it was as hard as what they say it is? Also, before enrolling in the accel program what was your 1st degree? Sorry for the odd questions I'm just wondering.
Best

Hi Kryke. Thanks for your willingness to share. I would also love to know what a typical day looked like for you. 8 hrs of studying every day like they said? Were you ever able to give yourself a day (like on a weekend?). Also, did you have any say at all in what kind of clinical or the shift you were assigned? (I think the answer is no but I just want to double check :). I applied for Feb. 2017 and am waiting to hear.

Hey guys! I'm in the May 2016 cohort right now (start clinical a in less than 2 weeks, YEAH!) It's definitely busy. Some days I study for 4 hours, some days I study for 12. I take every weekend off to be with my son, though I do work during nap times and usually for a couple of hours after he goes to bed. Some classes are pretty easy to grasp - like anything to do with Mental health and neuro is my jam (BS in psych with experience in neuro/mental health), but we just finished a cardiac unit in patho physiology.......lets just say I'm studying my butt off to get straight A's in the rest of the exams to counter that grade. You will definitely find strengths and weakness, some days you get material immediately, some days you don't catch on until 2 days after the exam. I don't have any official say in anything to do with my clinical, though they did make a specific request (or were supposed to anyway) to remove me from any night shifts and be reassigned to days - this is due to a seizure disorder though, and required disability paperwork to be filled out. I'm a single mom of a toddler - it's a difficult program, but even with kiddo it is doable.
c621211 thank you so much for taking the time to respond as you must be really busy! Best wishes for the rest of your time!

Hi Lisanhicks, do you happen to know what the deadline is for the Feb 2017 cohort? I'm looking at applying as well but have had no luck finding out if there is a specific date to have everything in by :)
