UWF Nursing School Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I have not seen a forum posted for beginning nursing school in the Fall. I think I have a pretty good shot of getting accepted due to having all of the bonus classes, hours, competitive TEAS score, and an ok GPA. I just wanted to start a discussion to get to know some of you and so we can post updates along the way! Good luck to all of you ?

May I ask what your stats were when you first applied?

A little over a 3.3 gpa, 86.7 TEAS, all electives complete, a few prerequisites in progress. These were my stats upon applying during spring '18. Keep pushing..you'll get in! Let me know if you have anymore questions; I'd love to help. Good luck!

Yeah I got in this fall 2019 off the alternate list and I only had a 3.1 made an 82 on the teas test . Had 70 volunteer hours . And 3 of the extra recommended classes and that’s what helped me slide in I believe

that's awesome! earlier, when you said you already had your AA when you applied, do you mean you had all of your anatomies and micro prereqs too when you applied? also is it likely to hear back from them prior to the time they gave? thanks for answering all of my questions. ?

Yes I went to Pensacola State College first and got my AA in pre-nursing (anatomies , chemistry, algebra etc) then applied to uwf to transfer and applied for their nursing program and now I start next month ??

And yes we were originally going to get the decisions in May but they sent them out in April they use NursingCAS system now and it makes it easier

best of luck and anymore questions I’ll answer to the best of my abilities

That was for Fall 2018 was I was placed as an alternate. I made it in for Fall 2019 and am starting the program in a few weeks! For this application pool, I had a little over a 3.1 GPA, 86 on TEAS, and all course work complete along with my minor. The competitiveness of getting accepted into the program will vary but greatly depends on the talent of the application pool for that incoming class and the number of applicants. I've heard spring and summer are, generally, easier to get into due to fewer applicants, but as you know this can vary as well.

All the best!

Done.

It does seem like they are taking their time putting things together. Hoping our new advisor is just as awesome as the others.

I'm happy we all get to start out with lunch together. Hopefully, it's something we can all keep doing during the next year and a half.
