Hello!
I didn't see a forum for this years applicants yet so I thought I'd start one. I applied last year and didn't get in but am going to try again this year. How is everyone else doing with their applications?

Hi! This is my first time applying and I'm still finishing up my personal statement.
I have some questions and I wonder if anyone knows the answers.... So according to the UW website, starting this year they will admit two cohorts of students per year. Does that mean there will be more seats offered this application cycle? Also, in the application and on the application timeline there's no mentioning of the proctored essay. Will we still need to do that?

Actually I just found the answers from the information session. I guess they are accepting 64*2 this year and they are cancelling the proctored essay.

@aspiringnurse2023 I think we'll be notified mid-December! If I remember right the application portal said decision emails are sent out the 19th. Good luck everyone!

Hi! I just received an offer of admission to the ABSN program for 2023 entry (+the DNP Nurse Midwifery track). Hoping others got this same good news!
Is anyone else confused by the Intent to Enroll form, which we have to submit by 12/23/22? I have applied to a handful of other schools that I won't hear back from until the end of January. As far as I can tell, this Intent to Enroll form is binding, but, it also seems odd for there to be such a quick turnaround time?
Thanks and sending good thoughts to all who applied this cycle!

Hi! I also got accepted. I opened the intent form and it states we only have a week to respond. It is odd for such a fast turnaround time... I guess you just have to decide if you want to wait or commit to UW. Although, I don't see anywhere on the form to place deposit, so maybe you can still rescind if you decide on another school? You should send them an email and ask. I only applied to UW so not much decision making here LOL.

hello! I also just got accepted. I only applied to one other program that I got accepted to but UW just seems too good to pass up. definitely agree it's weird that we only get a week to make our decision especially for people waiting to hear back from other schools. does anyone know if there's been a facebook page made for the ABSN 2023 cohorts?

Congratulations! I'm also considering applying to the UW ABSN program for the fall of 2025. However, I have a GPA of only 3.18, and I don't have any past experience. I'm currently in the process of completing prerequisite classes. Could you kindly share your GPA and experience? I'm curious to know if I still have a chance of being accepted.

I had transcripts from a couple schools and honestly I didn't calculate my final cumulative GPA. I think it's somewhere between 3.8-3.9. I have some hospital volunteer experiences, about 3.5 years of working experience as a medical assistant, about 2 years of undergraduate research experience, and many years of experience caring for an ill family member. UW reviews applications holistically, and I feel like they weigh experience more than GPA. They want to know how you became the person you are now and why do you want to take this path. I think everyone in my cohort has some kind of healthcare related experience, so if you want to increase your chance of acceptance, definitely work on that. Your personal statements and letter of recommendation matters a lot too, because they represent who you are.
