  1. Thank you so much for the encouragement! I wonder which manager you spoke to. Unfortunately, I didn't get a really good vibe during the interview. There was not much feedback on my responses and they were just reading off question after question... Made me super nervous. I'm from the Bay Area too but came to Seattle for nursing school. I was just thinking about contacting people back to see if they know any job opportunities... If you don't mind me asking, how did you prepare for the interview? The recruiter said the managers thought my responses lacked depth and critical thinking, and I think that's because I was scrambling on the spot to think of scenarios and examples. They also thought I lacked passion for their patient population, which is actually kind of hurtful because I know I'm passionate about the NICU. I might reapply for the next cohort just because I don't think I presented myself well this time around. I would appreciate any advice you can give!
  2. How did the interview go for you? I also had my interview with the NICU yesterday and I unfortunately didn't get the position ? Trying to debate if I should apply again for the next cohort... but that interview was definitely challenging and nervewrecking.
  3. I had transcripts from a couple schools and honestly I didn't calculate my final cumulative GPA. I think it's somewhere between 3.8-3.9. I have some hospital volunteer experiences, about 3.5 years of working experience as a medical assistant, about 2 years of undergraduate research experience, and many years of experience caring for an ill family member. UW reviews applications holistically, and I feel like they weigh experience more than GPA. They want to know how you became the person you are now and why do you want to take this path. I think everyone in my cohort has some kind of healthcare related experience, so if you want to increase your chance of acceptance, definitely work on that. Your personal statements and letter of recommendation matters a lot too, because they represent who you are.
  4. Hi! I also got accepted. I opened the intent form and it states we only have a week to respond. It is odd for such a fast turnaround time... I guess you just have to decide if you want to wait or commit to UW. Although, I don't see anywhere on the form to place deposit, so maybe you can still rescind if you decide on another school? You should send them an email and ask. I only applied to UW so not much decision making here LOL.
  5. Actually I just found the answers from the information session. I guess they are accepting 64*2 this year and they are cancelling the proctored essay.
  6. Hi! This is my first time applying and I'm still finishing up my personal statement. I have some questions and I wonder if anyone knows the answers.... So according to the UW website, starting this year they will admit two cohorts of students per year. Does that mean there will be more seats offered this application cycle? Also, in the application and on the application timeline there's no mentioning of the proctored essay. Will we still need to do that?
