  1. Hi! I actually graduated from this program in August so shoot any questions my way! Happy to help
  2. Hi, thank you! It was actually one of the more challenging interviews that I've had, but you interview with an individual unit manager so it may vary. They asked around 10-12 questions and a few were situation based where they asked how I would respond. My interview was a few months ago now (I was initially wanting to start with Nov cohort but there weren't spots open on my unit) so I don't remember the specifics, but make sure to be well versed in their mission and why you want to work at this hospital specifically. Good luck!
  3. Hi all, I just accepted an offer to work at Seattle Children's (Feb 2024 new grad residency). I don't know anyone who works there, and would love to hear a current or former employees thoughts about everything- hospital in general, staffing, orientation/residency info, culture, perks, drawbacks, anything you can think of! I appreciate any input, thank you!
  4. Can I ask- how long did it take to get your ATT after applying & how long before you were able to sit to take the NCLEX? Not sure how much time to allocate for either. Thank you!
  5. When are you guys graduating? I graduate August '23 and am trying to figure out what the soonest start date would be for me/which cohort I could possibly start with
  6. I know it's been a long time but if you have any tips for the Nutrition final exam please let me know! I have an A but I know the final is a lot more ~general~ and honestly I'm not sure how to study or prepare for it. Any tips help, thank you!
  7. Which ABSN?! That's incredibly well priced. Mine is $60k total which I believe to be average... especially seeing other schools costing $100k plus
  8. So do you recommend going ahead and applying to jobs that say "2 years nursing experience required", and they would just automatically enroll us in the new grad residency if hired? I'm just not sure how I would get hired as an RN to actually get into a residency program with there only being jobs listed that require experience (if that makes sense). Thank you!
  9. Hi- I was wondering, what % of tuition does UW pay for if you're an employee? In Portland where I am at, if you've been an employee for 5 years they pay up to 85% (RN going to DNP program). Just trying to compare but I can't find any concrete numbers, percentages, or anything regarding HOW MUCH they actually cough up for tuition! Thank you!
  10. After you pay the deposit Katie emails us with a link to the fb group! Excited to meet you:)
  11. Where on earth did you go for only $20K for an ABSN program? Every program I look at ends up being $50K+, it's insanity
  12. What is your interest rate for loans through Wells Fargo? I have WF too and am trying to compare interest rates of Fed Loans and private loans through SoFi so this info would be greatly appreciated!!
  13. Hi again, I just wanted to confirm that the 6-quarter program is about 2 years? I’ve only ever done semesters and am trying to plan the timeline correctly
  14. Thank you so much for such a thoughtful response. This is definitely why I have been so torn. I have looked into qualifying for private loans and luckily I have a great credit score so I qualified for $40k at a 6.5% interest rate. Not terrible… but obviously, a good chunk of cash. All in all, I would be paying $1k a month for 10 years or $2k a month for 5 years. Lots of money for sure. As far as taking the longer route to a BSN, it’s a little frustrating because I am in Oregon and really don’t have any local state schools nearby that offer a BSN. Only private, expensive universities. My significant other is in northern Washington so I have considered going there, but the 2-year BSN programs (out of state) end up costing as much as the ABSN program so it would be a community college. So all in all, going that route would take about 3 years to get a BSN. I’ve been trying to calculate the time/money difference- as in if I got my BSN in a year and started making a nurse salary would make up for the additional 2 years living on a CNA salary, if that makes sense. I would want to get my FNP at some point as well, probably in WA when I eventually became a resident. A lot to think about and I REALLY appreciate your input
  15. That’s awesome, congrats!! Honestly it sounds like the move. Obviously it would take longer than a 12 month BSN but I would literally save tens and tens of thousands ? Did you get to choose which med/surg speciality you were in for each quarter?
