UW Oshkosh CRNA 2020

Updated:   Published

Is anyone applying here or previously applied here? I know this is a newer program so any info would be appreciated as to the interview process? Strengths/weakness of the program?

Anyone knows class size vs interviewees number?

Up to 75 applicants for 15-20 spots but keep in mind many will accept other offers or other reasons. So a rough number would be < 60 students

Only 15 spots?? May the odds be in our favor. I'm hoping my GPA is high enough.

Received the same email as well. I’m guessing most people are interviewing on the 27th? Are you flying into Milwaukee?!

Flying into Appleton.

Those that live in WI, what is good place to rent at? It's just me, I don't have a family. I like to do my research before hand, as the program does start in Summer. I want to be prepared and know where to be looking at. Thank you.

Due to very minimal information of UW Oshkosh CRNA interview, I would like to share my personal viewpoint for the upcoming classes.

Interview:

You will take a short written clinical exam, it’s timed.

Following that, you will be in front of a panel which includes (Dean, Faculty, and SRNAs) they will ask majority of personal, behavioral, ethical/morals, etc; as well don’t exclude some clinical questions as ever panel might be a bit different.

After that, if possible a SRNA will show you around their simulation lab and briefly share what makes UWO great.

Length of time: 90 - 120 minutes

Overall, I say it was a great interview.

P.S. for future reference, please don’t message me asking about the interview, in detail as I won’t disclose any information.

My impression is that the clinical experience/opportunity at this program is very impressive so if you make it there you will get excellent experience even relative to some of the best programs, but my impression is that it is not pleasant getting there (the didactic portion), even less pleasant than other programs. It is always so hard to know certain details about a program without being in it. If you are prepared for a serious grind then you will succeed anywhere, and I see many positive attributes about this program. But if you have other programs accepting you, feel free to email me at [email protected] with your facebook information, and I will reach out to you on facebook to share.

Does anyone know how long it was gonna take for them to make decisions?

When I asked at the interview, I was told that the interview committee will make their recommendations and forward them and our packets to the graduate school approval board. The board meets today, March 6th. They will give their final approval so we should hear as early as today or (more likely) next week. Good luck everyone!

Has anyone heard anything so far? The wait is no fun.?

Nothing yet. They said they would let us know either way so ?.

Just revived an acceptance offer via email. Congratulations to everyone!! Even a C average student can be a CRNA, you just have to reach out there and grab it; with the desire and determination anything is possible!
