Has anyone heard when UTMB is sending out fall acceptance letters for their FNP program??
Hi,
I'm finishing up an RN to BSN program currently. I graduated with my ADN in 1989.. (Dinosaur days) The Nursing CAS system I hated the way they configured the GPA for schools to review. Between the 3 schools I've attended , I had 3.3... I know they receive a large number of applicants so I would think they are still reviewing... Good Luck..
I got my ADN in 2011 and kept taking classes towards my ADN. I started working in February of 2012 in cardiac ICU and have been there ever since. I completed the RN to BSN at UTA this past December. I have a 4.0 GPA for all of my classes. I talked to a recruiter last year from UTMB though and she said they put more weight in to your experience and personal statement so I don't think grades are the true deciding factor. Good luck!!
Hi, I recently got accepted to the FNP program fall 2014. I am thrilled- I can't believe the program is only 1 year. I don't see how it is possible to work. Anyone want to exchange emails to keep in touch? Is everyone living near the campus or farther away. I am working in Dallas currently, but I have family in Spring.

I think there are 2 options, some of us are doing the part time program and some will be doing full time. I am planning on doing the part time program that is about 2.5 yrs so I can work. Feel free to contact me at [email protected]

So I know there is some software for PDA's required for BSN students, but orientation packet doesn't state it's required, but skyscape.com/utmbson has FNP programs on their site for purchase and install... so I fired off an email to Bonnie Webster in informatics - i'll post her reply when I receive it.
Hi Ms. Webster:
I’m starting the FNP program and orient on Monday. I received information from the orientation packet regarding PDA software for BSN students, but what about MSN students?
Skyscape.com/utmbson has the FNP programs on their site. Should I have these purchased and installed prior to orientation?
Joe Poole BSN, RN
Hi Joe,
Actually that document was intended for the BSN students and a requirement for them. But for the MSN students, there is no requirement at this time. During orientation, I believe the faculty will be suggesting some apps that are helpful.
There is a link on that site with software that has been used in the past but is not a requirement at this time.
Thanks and congrats to you for coming back to school!!! Best to you!!
Mrs. Webster

Hi guys, does anyone mind sharing their GPA and experience. I still haven't heard anything but just trying to gauge myself against those that have gotten in to see what they are looking for. If nobody feels comfortable doing that I understand, just thought I would ask.
