UTMB Fall 2020 AGPC/FNP Master’s Program

Hi all! I thought I’d create a thread for those who applied or are in the processing of applying to the Fall 2020 UTMB master’s NP programs.

I applied to all three: Adult/Gero Acute Care, Adult/Gero Primary Care, and Family NP.

I am late in the game and just applied this week before the March 15th deadline. Are there any others that have recently applied?

My background:

Graduated from the BSN program at UTHealth in fall 2018. Have been a nurse in Oncology for a year. I know my experience is limited but I met the requirement of 1 year experience required. Is there anyone with less than 2 years experience as an RN? I have a 3.2 GPA but have submitted a well written personal statement. I received 3 letters of recommendations from my Associate Director, Clinical Nurse Manager, and Charge Nurse. My goal is to get accepted into one of the Adult/Gero NP programs.

Hi! I applied for the FNP track on March 4th. I received my BSN from UTMB in 2013. I’ve predominantly worked in women’s health since 2014. My GPA from nursing is 3.5 with a 3.8 overall. I currently am the nurse manager in a huge private practice and I sent in only 1 letter of recommendation from my administrator. I’m waiting on pins and needles to hear back!

Have you heard back from the admissions committee? I received an email from the admissions chair and she is reviewing my applications.

I have not heard back yet. What did the email say? Was it from Ms. DeLeon? I have been checking my status constantly!

I applied to both FNP and AGACNP. She wanted to know whats my program preference since she’s reviewing applications this week! Her name is Ms.Aoughsten. My status hasn’t changed online yet. I’ll keep you posted!

How long did it take for you guys to get the supplemental application? I just applied and I’m worried it may have filled up.

So I went back and actually looked at all my emails. I submitted my application on NursingCAS on 3/2 and got my supplemental application from UTMB on 3/5.

I applied on March 7th and received my supplemental app on March 12th. It might take a bit longer because of the pandemic.

I emailed Ms. DeLeon about a typical timeline for hearing back from admissions about a decision and she said they were reviewing applications this week and will “hopefully have a decision on Thursday.” So hopefully we hear something tomorrow!
