How does one get started in doing Utilization review? Do you have to have a certificate and where does one get that? I have done floor nursing for many years and need to get off the floor.. Thank you..

Did you find a new role? The health market is booming and opportunities are endless. A lot of work from home jobs that I never knew existed. I love working from home and hope to never return to beside or I end up with a worse back and on disability at such a young age. I just can't do it anymore.

Any advice for a nurse without acute care experience who's interested in UR? 12 years as RN and background includes DON at a nursing home, public health, then primary care nurse.

mersekrn,
May I ask if you are still in the position as a Utilization Review Nurse Consultant for Aetna and if you still like it? Any feedback you have will be appreciated.

I know your post is quite old but do you mind PM'ing that company you had a bad experience with? I'm applying for UR jobs now and I was hoping to have better insight on which insurance companies to apply for. Thanks!

I have been a nurse and ready for a change. I have tried many times for a case management or UR position only to be notified that I do not have the position and thank you for applying. I do not know what else to do I am in great need to make a switch but where do I begin or get the qualification/experience for these positions

I currently work from home as a UR nurse. I did not get any specific certification or training in this type of nursing. I started by applying to a start up Workers' comp company and got hired. I do know a contact that is hiring. You can message me if interested.

I have applied for UM/Case manager work at home jobs and its always they've found someone with more experience. Can you give me some insight or guidance?
