Hi everyone, I was recently accepted into the Utica ABSN program in Latham NY and was hoping to get any advice or tips. I've come across poor reviews in terms of faculty support and high attrition rate but was wondering if there were any specifics. More so, is the program doable? How much time is needed to be invested on a weekly basis to cover lecture material? Is the lecture material/study material helpful on exams? How is the clinical lab experience? Do you feel as though you are on track to becoming a competent nurse? Really open to any and all advice before investing my time and money into this endeavor.
Current student here .... They look for any and every reason to fail you with no remorse. My class started with 48 students after just the first semester we were down to 22. It's not worth your money at all!! If I could do it again I would go elsewhere. They were so convincing at the orientation and half of it was lies. The reason the NCLEX passing rates are so high are because only 10 or less students end up graduating. Also, you will be doing 95% of the work on your own there is no lecture, we only get once a week synchronous sessions which is the only time we really get to ask questions or try to understand the material aside from the slides we get. I only looked forward to this program because of the 16 months and honestly there's so many other schools I wish I looked into before just coming here. Russell sage from what I heard is pretty good and it's 20k less than utica also 16 months. A lot of our students end up starting over at that school or attempting to transfer. The Florida campus is getting shut down I wouldn't be surprised if we were next after what they put our cohort through for " accreditation" purposes. So all in all it's ridiculous and wouldn't recommend, I think any student who goes here will tell you that.

I attended in 2020, so I'm not sure how it is now. Best of luck to you!
