Utica Accelerated BSN August 2013

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Anyone else apply for this program? I just found out I got into the Utica Accelerated BSN August 2013 start date.

@lamore126- I am looking into the program. If accepted, I will be moving from MN to FL. I was wondering how much is the entire program?

$50,000. I'm not sure about aid or scholarships. I have personal student loans.

Thank you! Any other advice or recommendation for the program?

How are the onsite lab and exams?

Do a million practice NCLEX questions while studying for Foundations and Medsurg.

There's an onsite computer lab, where you take proctored exams for Health Assessment, Foundations of Nursing, Medsurg, and all the specialties. All the other exams and quizzes are online open book (Patho, pharm)

Hey @Lamore126,

Just wanted to know how have you've been doing in the program? Is it good? I just got accepted to Utica college accelerated program for Fall 2015. The only thing that is a problem for me is the cost. All in all, what does everyone think, should I wait a year and save up and try for cheaper schools or just go for Utica because my advisor emailed me saying waiting a year is a year I won't be a nurse and have the salary of a nurse (average $60,000). Utica is really trying to convince me to join them. In need of advice please and thank you

Hi!

I am just trying to see if I have a chance of getting into the Utica ABSN program for Aug 2015. I have a overall GPA of 2.95, worked as an Nursing Assistant for the past two years at MUSC and have a BS in Interdisciplinary Health Services. I have been nervous since my GPA is not the greatest! Can anyone help me out if I have a good chance at being accepted to the program?!

Hey @westernmich, I say you apply anyway, my GPA is a 3.0 and my pre-reqs are a 3.5, Utica focuses on pre-reqs. Request more information on them through their website, apply and speak with a counselor. My counselor is very nice and helped me along the way of my application. I was accepted to the program but relocating and taking private loans will hurt me financially so I may end up going to school near my house back in NYC. I had the same doubts as you but you never know till you try  Also for your application you can mail them your resume and cover letter to express your passion in nursing. There's more to a student than their grades so apply.

Hello all :)

I have been accepted in to the UTICA ABSN program to start in Fall 2016. I am eager to talk to anyone who has graduated from this program, as I have questions about a host of things (ie: Teaching staff, office hours, testing, grade-system, student-student dynamic, ETC. (phew, quite a lot)...

I greatly appreciate any feedback, and thank you in advance!

Thank you so much tiny_nurse. I just found out I got accepted to the Utica's ABSN Fall 2018, and this info is very helpful. How did your cohort do? did the school help you with NCLEX reviews? thank you in advance.

Hi, hfrn7. How was your first semester so far? Were all the classes, exams super hard?
