Hi everyone! I didn’t see a thread for Fall 2022 Traditional BSN at UTHSCSA so I made one. I hope we can help each other answer any questions. Good luck to everyone who applied!

UTHSCSA has a holistic approach when looking at applications so keep that in mind! I recommend attending the two virtual BSN application workshops they offer. They helped ease my anxiety and thoroughly explained the application process. If you have any more questions let me know. Good luck on your nursing journey! ?

Thank you very much. Yes, I did attend their last webinars. May I ask what were the “holistic approach” specifically so I can be better prepared to get in? I like the school very much so I am excited to hear what else I should be prepared to be a better candidate if you do not mind sharing. Thank you very much for sharing your stats. That eases my mind a little. I saw on the website the average TEAS score in 2022 was 83, so I was wondering if I should retake to get a better score.

Awesome! The holistic approach they take is they consider everything rather than just one fixated thing if that makes sense. Although GPA and the TEAS scores are important, I believe the way you present yourself in the interview and how you answer the questions is most important. UTHSCSA is very big on serving Southern Texas and underserved communities so I would research about their outreach and educate yourself on some current issues in the medical field ? Was the average on the UTHSCSA website? If so, I believe my class are the first class to have TEAS scores be considered in the application process since I believe Fall 2020, so I’m not sure if that TEAS score average is accurate. I don’t think our stats are out yet. This is what I’m looking at  https://www.uthscsa.edu/academics/nursing/programs/BSN-traditional/admissions under “Admitted student profiles”. Regardless, I would say to aim for at least mid 70’s

Hey, I just recently got accepted for the Fall 2023 cohort and I wanted to get some insight on people who have been in the program and what are their thoughts. If you do not mind could you give me your un biased thoughts about your first year in UTHSCSA
