Hello! So I had seen threads started for past classes and didn't see one yet for the Fall of 2014 class, so I figured I would start one. So let me introduce myself. My name is Will Long, I am a 27 years old male and I am applying for UTHSCSA's Traditional BSN program for the Fall of 2014. I have started my application and have signed up to take the TEAS test next Friday. I am pretty excited about finally being able to apply after finishing up all the pre-reqs. Anyways I was hoping this thread could be used a source of information and a place to ask each other questions throughout the application process. Anybody else out there applying? Have you already taken your TEAS test?

I think we'll hear alphabetically like before. So I'll probably hear something on the last day. And Wlong TX, I have no idea who that is. Maybe I'm missing out on the best tv show ever! And as far as what I want to do, I'll be happy anywhere. I love working with people of all ages so I don't really have a preference. I do especially love children, but whatever path develops, I'll take it. As long as RN is behind my name!
Do you guys think we will hear on the same day or like they will come in waves next week
I initially was thinking alphabetically (like mirasmom), but then realized if they are doing background checks on us based on receipt date of our supplementals, they probably did them as they received them...I know I sent mine in after WLong and others, so who knows...I'm at the beginning of the alphabet, so I will absolutely let y'all know when Monday rolls around...and don't think for one second I wasn't checking my email today on the off chance someone at UTHSCSA wanted to start my weekend off right:roflmao:...ugh...the countdown continues...
How many of us are second degree, or non traditional, etc? What did everyone do before they decided to go into nursing?
Well, hmm. I'm second degree, but not second bachelors. I already have an associates. 116 (will be more) credit hours. So I'm transferring in with a ton of stuff. I'll have an IBCLC credential, my school will ba paid for by the Army. So. I guess I'm not traditional, and most of my prereqs are coming from my military training. I am a lab tech now, with tons of micro and chem classes that may or may not transfer. We shall see.
