UTHSC Traditional BSN Spring 2014 Applicants

Published

I have seen many threads for previous applicants for past semesters to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I wanted to start one myself as I am applying for the spring 2014 traditional BSN and have yet to find a thread for it. Although I opened it for applicants, I would also encourage previous applicants, current/previous students, and applicants for other semesters at UTHSC to join in and share in this exciting time!

Anybody out there get recent notification? I just want to know if I was denied already!! Lol

Not yet! Hopefully we will hear something this week!!

Haven't received anything ... the anticipation is sickening and it doesn't help that I'm preparing for a chem test in 3 days and statistics test tonight .. :***:

Nope... Nothing!

Hey everyone! So obviously I just now discovered this website/thread. I applied and felt alright, since I had a 3.7 prereqs gpa and 4.0 science gpa (UTHSC wasn't counting my stat class from UT (austin) which I made a C+ in) but after they sent the most recent transcript eval I realized my prereqs gpa is now a 3.62 (they're counting my stat class), annoying especially since I'm taking stats again this semester SINCE they weren't counting it. I didn't do super great on the Hesi, and I hadn't taken Physiology (A&P2) yet. SO what do you guys think of my stats?

Nursing prereq: 3.62

Science gpa: 4.0

Overall gpa: 3.4 (ugghhh UT!!)

Cumulative hesi: 89.7% (Reading 96, Grammar 94, Vocab 94, A&P 76, Math 92, Critical Thinking 870)

Sorry if this is annoying and people ask these questions all the time!

So I just called the BSN dept and they said we wouldn't know anything until Nov 15th!!

Does anyone know what kind if stethoscope they want you to have? And if there are any restrictions on color or brand?

Brand I wouldn't think so (as long as it has both bells/diaphragms), but color they might have some regulations on that.. Should be able to find out at the orientation.

I don't think those scores are bad. You have better science GPA than me. However, to be honest that Hesi A&P might be a little weak, but I think you scored higher on the Critical thinking than I did (Don't remember all my "stats" - maybe I should look it up ).

Ugh I wish I would've waited to take the hesi until I was done with A&P!

I think your stats are fine. I got in and your hesi is somewhat similar to mine and the same ct score, but I scored 80 on the a and p section.

I also hadn't taken A&P 2, but I made an 80 on that section, 820 CT

Nursing: 3.67

Science: 3.67 (hadn't taken A&P2)
