I'm thinking I'll stay full time this first semseter when there is only classes. I work with a girl who is in her first year there and that's what she was able to do. I've also talked with some other people who finished their first year in the dual program and they said while it was duable to be in school and work full time, it was really stressful. I'm thinking about going part time or PRN in January. I don't want to be in clinicals all week and then work all weekend. And I know one person who took a day of vacation every week so she only worked two days but I like to use my vacation hours as I get them. In August, I plan on stay in Memphis for the week. It's a two hour drive one way and with all the construction on 40 it normally takes closer to 3 hours.

My manager told me that a few people she knew who did the program still work full time or worked just weekend. I'll see how the first couple of weeks go and then decide. It feels like August will be here soon.

Yeah I'm thinking the first few weeks won't be too bad, but the second semester sounds horrible with working and in school. Yeah August seems like it's way too close for comfort! I'm getting ridiculously nervous!

If you don't mine me asking, do you have any kids or a husband? You seem pretty cool and excited to meet you. I'm originally from Mississippi, but moved to Memphis 2 years ago with my boyfriend. I'm 24 with no kids and I have know family here. Mostly everyone I know here are close friend.

I'm so glad to read this thread!! I'll be starting the Acute Care progam in August as well. SICURN01 I work at UAMS too!! I'm in the float pool. I can't wait for August, I'm nervous and anxious about what to expect. I met a recent graduate of the program and she loved it. It's hard to get any information from blogs and websites about this program. So any information or post I'm sure is greatly apreciated. I thought I was the only one who was obssessed about the net id issue.

I saw the email about the background check! Finally something to do for school! I've hated just waiting around in limbo. Gwenrn1, I'm on H4, so if you're ever floated over there- let me know!

My background check is completed. It was a little expensive and it didn't take me long to do. Now waiting to go do my drug screen.

Yeah that background check was extensive. I had to call and clarify some questions I had and I don't think the girl understood me at all. Hopefully that doesn't mess me up with school...

Background check completed and paid for. All I have to do is complete the drug screen by June 19 and I'll do it next Thursday. All that will be needed is the Net Id...lol

Yeah I was thinking that after this holiday we would have the NetID. I'm getting anxious about not having it. I called Financial Aid today wondering if I could get the ball rolling on getting loans without the NetID number (of course I had to leave a message). It'll suck to have to buy the books and everything we need out of pocket to have it before school starts...
