UTHSC Houston - Summer 2016 Applicants

Hey everyone!

I couldn't find a thread for Summer 2016 that was active so I'm starting one here! I am also an applicant for Fall 2016 but I'm applying for both because the deadlines are close and I really want to go here!! :laugh:

So far I'm taking courses over the summer right now and going to finish my prerequisites this fall. I JUST finished the HESI exam today!!! Hope to hear from all of you soon :up:

Anyone else anxiously waiting to find out if and when there will be another wave of acceptances?

I would look for a few more next week or the following week. Those who were chosen for admission had a choose whether they were still interested in attending and had to answer within 10 calendar days. The last of those applicants was late last week. If not next week or the week after, April 16 will be the last unless there are people that didn't clear background checks, drug screens, or other issues. I looked once at past semesters and some people were admitted just a few days before the start of class. Good luck!

I'm past the point of anxiety over waiting for an email finally...was making me sick to my stomach and it was just a miserable time. If I don't get one, I'll just look forward to hopefully getting in for Fall or getting in the ADN program at WCJC. If all else fails, there's always applying for Spring term at both schools...trying to have a Plan C in order in case it's not in the cards for me to start just yet. I just want to start some sort of RN program so the ball is rolling at least.

WCJC has a great ADN program, of course it's just ADN, but I work for the Allied Health Department at WCJC as a Part-time Instructor and I personally can say the school is very well known for high pass rates on NCLEX and being an outstanding program. The only reason I didn't apply is they changed their admissions requirement and they only accept the TEAS and also I would eventually pursure my bachelors. Don't give up hope yet, but just know whatever happens is meant to happen.

That's awesome! I applied last spring for Fall 2015 and was denied, so decided to continue with BSN-prerequisites. Found UT's Pacesetter BSN program and was sold, but kept WCJC on my "application roster" as well. WCJC does have an awesome program from what I've heard from everyone. I really want a BSN when all is said and done, but if I have to take the longer route, so be it. Everything happens for a reason.

I applied to both the summer and fall semesters but hadn't heard anything. I'd pretty much given up hope of a summer acceptance but I got an email to check on my uth status today. In. :x3:

I haven't been on this website in a long time, I attended LCC nursing program year but decided to drop and pursue UTHealth so I could finish my degree much faster. I was accepted to Summer 2016 pacesetter program so I figured I'd check and see if people still used this site but it looks like I missed out on a lot of fun on this forum lol... Christian, congratulations to you! I am also in the summer, 2017 class at UTHealth. We have a Facebook page, I would suggest that you ask to get into the group. There is a lot of information you need to know. Orientation is required and that is happening on May 17 at 8AM. Hope to meet you then. There is a Facebook link for our class if you search about 3 pages prior to this. For some reason, I'm not able to post it here....
