UTHSC-Houston Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

Thanks for your comments

Well we have 2 weeks so I guess we'll see what happen :nailbiting:

I'm right there with you! This has been challenging to say the least, but it's good to have others to relate to during the wait! Good luck to you and all who are still waiting!!

Hi everyone,

Any advice on what is a good study guide for the hesi exam? I am going to take mine and I want to be prepared for it.

Same here!! We still have a couple of weeks to go!

The school recommends a study guide: Admission Assessment Exam Review 3rd edition| US Elsevier Health Bookshop

This is what I purchased and studied twice over. As long as A&P 1 and 2 are fresh in your mind this study guide will be great. I made a 94.8% on my exam overall. For some people VOCAB seemed to be the hardest part...the vocab section of the test is EXACTLY like the book. GOOD LUCK TO YOU! :)

Thanks :) just ordered the Book. Hopefully it goes good for me on the test.

another great place to go is quizlet.com. Type in Hesi and you'll come up with all sorts of stuff.

pay special attention to the "tip" boxes in the elsevier study guide.

Know your hormones - their functions and origins. Know the pathways of blood flow in and out of the heart. Specifically what areas of the body are supplied by which arteries and vice versa. Know the pathway of airflow in and out of the lungs.

Refresh yourself on metric conversions. Dividing, multiply, adding and subtracting decimals and fractions.

West Coast University also has a study guide online.

Has anyone gotten accepted recently?

Nothing here yet!

Nothing here. Just the green circle. Has anyone tried calling? Doubt it would be much help but just curious
