UTHSC-Houston Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

Thanks for your comments

Still haven't heard anything. I would say I am patiently waiting, but that would not be the truth! As I'm sure others can relate! Let's just say I will never look at yellow triangles the same again...lol!! But, I'm happy it still gives me some hope, too!!:nailbiting:

Haven't herd anything. Just a green dot for months on end! lol

If you do find out you were accepted make sure you screen shot everything!!!!! :) I was at work when I found out and was RUSHING to accept and my co-worker was like "wait, slow down, screen shot everything" So I did.

I had the yellow triangle, when i logged in I had the green check! Since I did a screen shot I will forever get to look at it! I know how we all feel about that triangle. It takes you through a few more screens welcoming you to the school. Then it went right back to the yellow triangle because of all the stuff that is due before the start.

Just an idea!!

yeah....I am NOT patiently waiting....I am checking 50 times a day!

for the people who have been accepted: have you received anything in the mail? i've accepted online and have my to do list there (on that subject, what do we do about the RN licence thing?) but i haven't received any documents in the mail. i thought maybe the mailed docs might explain things a bit better than the online app?

also, i wonder- are there any accepted peeps who have't finished taking all their classes? if so, does it appear as a "hold" or "to do" on your myuth? i can't seem to find any indication that my credits didn't transfer, except a transfer eval that came awhile before my app was reviewed. it is probably magical thinking that everything was corrected through the application process?

i suppose this will all be worked out as soon as i get an email back... but it has been days and i'm antsy :(

I was accepted and I'm currently taking classes. It doesn't appear as a hold or anything on myUTH, but I had a green circle before I was accepted. I haven't received anything in the mail other than my transcript eval, but my acceptance email said that info would be sent in the mail no later than Nov 15.

Don't worry about the RN license hold. One of the posters here already called the SON about it and it's nothing to worry about, just something that'll show up for everyone.

Everything on my transcript eval (except the classes that I'm still taking) said OK so I assume that meant that everything transferred.

my goodness, what is taking so long??? Let me know already.

I know! The green circle is still there. When will I see the green check?

Hi everyone! I have been on here for a while and thought I would actually post something, so I didn't feel like a stalker anymore! I applied for the spring. And I am anxiously awaiting to hear back. Everyday I'm checking my email religiously. It is such a nerve racking process, but I am staying optomistic!! Just wanted to congratulate those who have been accepted!!! And let everyone waiting to hear that I am with you!! :-)

okay, if anyone is curious and in the event that someone is in a similar situation as mine, here is what happened with the credits transferring. My thesis credits didn't transfer for English credits (silly, because I was a literature major but my focus was in Russian and German but oh well) but I can take the CLEP exam to fulfill that requirement. My philosophy credit was accepted. Due to my own silliness (well, that and because my counselor at HCC told me the wrong info! did this happen to anyone else I wonder), I took anthro instead of soc. My boyfriend is getting his phD in anthro at Rice so I took it instead thinking they were equivalent!! Aiyiyyi. We found a solution, though, I can take it in winter mini semester at Lonestar! hoorahhh! going to be a few hoops to jump through but i'm ecstatic that it could be all worked out. so, if you are in a similar-ish situation maybe some of these solutions will work for you.

many calming, cleansing thoughts for all y'all out there who are waiting. my heart goes out to you!
