Hello all,
I am wanting to apply to UTHEALTH for Summer 2020 and fall 2019. I will be coming from out of state. This semester I am taking Stats and texas government and taking the HESI. In the Spring, I will take Mirco lab. I will have about a 3.2-3.3 overall GPA by the time I apply. Has anyone gotten accepted with this GPA before?

I applied for spring 2020 and was denied yesterday so here I am waiting for the week to start to speak to an advisor for a denial reason and reapply for summer.
GPA 4.0 and Hesi 92%
Good luck, a friend of mine was denied with identical stats as you first time he applied and accepted the second..

Did you repeat any classes to get a 4.0?
@Sanchez788 they likely will just tell you "we had alot of highly qualified applicants." Applying for spring was my 3rd time applying and getting denied, each time applicants with lower stats were accepted over me. It made no sense and I drove myself crazy trying to figure out why. In the end, I'm highly qualified and I know it, so I applied to other school's who were willing to recognize that. My best advice I can give you, don't limit yourself to this one school, because you're never guaranteed to get in and you are then prolonging how long it will take you to become an RN.
UT is just as highly rated at TWU, UH and UTMB. No one school is better than the other, they all teach the same material and we all take the same NCLEX to become BSN, RN in the end. I encourage you to join class Facebook groups for the school's you are interested in. This will give you an inside look at what students really think about their programs, their pros and cons. While my opinion is my own, I realized after applying a third time that UT was not a good fit for me and another school I applied to became my number one choice.
Remember you are highly qualified and capable, don't let one school's rejection define you or make you feel lesser. Any school would be lucky to have you with your stats and determination!

Did you do that for the last groups? I hadn't thought about that, I'd just assumed that they would only want their class members in the groups... Some great advice in your post btw
@DontWorryBeHappy thank you! And yes I did! They accepted me no problem, it's probably too difficult to determine who is a student and who isn't. I joined pages for UT and TWU. I figured this way I could see how people felt about the program, their struggles/complaints and things they really liked. Every program will have it's pros/cons and ups/downs, no program will be perfect. It helped me and another friend decide which programs we thought would better suit us!
*edit also note that someone else's complaint may not necessarily effect you. It's up to us as individuals to make the most out of nursing school, so observe others pros/cons with an open mind since you aren't witnessing them firsthand and are just making interpretations from facebook. UT is a great school like all the others, so I don't want it to come off as if I am trying to demean the school!

They do NOT accept more than 2 attempts on the HESI
Hello I'm applying for the Pacesetter Program as well. I have a 3.8 GPA overall, I have not taken my HESI yet but I have scheduled it for Dec. 20.
As of now I am filling out my application. Under the Test Scores portion of the application it asks to fill out our HESI score for each category below with a HESI ID. Because I have not taken the HESI yet, would I skip this portion and apply and use my application ID# for my HESI ID? I attached a photo below. I'm not 100% sure and I don't want to submit anything incorrect.

I think that's right, that's how I would interpret those directions.
I already took the HESI and I'm trying to enter it in, and I don't see where I get my HESI ID from...does anyone know? My guess would be that it's either the "delivery ID" that's printed on the bottom of the score report, or my HESI username but that's letters not numbers...so I'm a little confused what it's referring to.

Oh really? I understood that to be only if we haven't taken the HESI. So if we do that, do we leave it blank and submit the app, and then go back and edit it once we get a student ID?
