Anyone getting any feedback from UTEP for Spring 2019 FNP yet? My wife is waiting to hear from them.

Hi, I am considering FNP at UTEP. Can you tell me how clinicals works out? Is it feasible to work full time and get clinical time in as well? Trying to weigh out options. Thanks :)

Clinicals for me at UTEP, 5 years ago, was too busy for full-time work, especially towards the end when I was really trying to crank out the hours. My wife is about to start clinicals in a year at UTEP, she has already quit her job in preparations of that time period.
Can it be done? Sure, if you worked the weekends and did clinicals during the week. It's hard enough to get preceptors during normal business hours let alone on off hours like weekends.
Thanks for the info. I have a phone interview today and still not sure if I will be able to pull off the clinical. I have preceptors in mind with the exception of womens health and peds. Peds is a longer clinical ? 180 hours. Do you know if this has to be in a clinic, home health, peds ED? I think that's the most nerve wracking for me right now, the 180 hours. I see for year 3 is advanced clinical at 280hrs.
I can't remember the clinical site requirements, they may change anyway. I was in a pediatric office, it was a great experience.

Hi! How is your wife doing with the program so far? I just received my acceptance letter & will be starting classes in Aug. I’m also in San Antonio.
She's doing very well. She's in pharmacotherapeutics, and loving it, lol. She'd be happy to speak with you about her experience, we live near Fiesta Texas.
That is wonderful! I’d love to speak with her. I tried to send a personal message with my # but I’m not able to do so for some reason.
